1. Introduction

Welcome to SelfM. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the SelfM – Time Tracker & Planner app for Android (“SelfM”, “the app”) and this website, selfm.app. SelfM is published by Self Management.

2. Information we collect

SelfM does not collect or store your personal information or your tracking data on our servers. The activities, categories, goals, time entries and statistics you create are stored locally on your device.

3. How your information is used

Because your data stays on your device, it is used only by the app to:

  • track your activities and time;
  • show insights and statistics for your personal use;
  • export or import your statistics when you choose to.

4. Advertising

The free version of SelfM shows ads. Ads are provided by third-party advertising services, which may collect and use information such as your device’s advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how ads are shown and used, in line with their own privacy policies. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).

5. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not share, sell, or trade your personal information. Your tracking data is stored locally on your device and is not accessible to us. When you export a file (for example a CSV report), you decide where it is saved and with whom it is shared.

6. Data security

We keep your data secure by keeping it on your device. Please keep your device protected (for example with a screen lock) to protect your data.

7. Your rights

Because your data is stored locally:

  • you control access to your information;
  • you can export your data at any time;
  • you can delete your data at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.

8. Permissions

SelfM requests the following Android permissions so it can work properly:

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to send reminders and alerts.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — to export statistics.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — to import statistics.
  • READ_PHONE_STATE and PROCESS_OUTGOING_CALLS — to pause tracking during phone calls.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE and WAKE_LOCK — to run lock screen tracking reliably.
  • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW — to show your activities on the lock screen.
  • INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used by the advertising service to load ads. Your tracking data is not sent over the internet.

9. Children

SelfM is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. This website

selfm.app is a static website. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify you.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
